First-Home Buyer Grants
Western Australia
The Western Australian Government funds and provides a First Home Buyer Grant of $7000 to all first-home-buyers. Combined with the Federal Government’s $14,000 First Home Owner Boost, first home buyers of new homes will receive maximum benefits of up to $21,000.
Note: The Federal Government "Boost" grant applies to contracts entered into between 14 October 2008 and 30 June 2009 (inclusive).
Other Savings
In addition to the First Home Buyers Grant, West Australian First Home Buyers receive further financial support through the Home Buyers Assistance scheme. Under the scheme, first home buyers who purchase an established or partially built home through a licensed real estate agent receive a grant of up to $2000. To be eligible, the purchase price must not exceed $400,000.
The scheme is funded from interest paid on real estate agents' trust accounts.
