Home Owner Grants
Home Owner Grants/Stamp
Duty Concessions
There are a number of grants for home owners offered by both the Federal Government and individual state governments. Most of the grants are for first home buyers however some states offer other types of home grants.
Federal First Home Owner Grant
The First Home Owner Grant (FHOG) scheme was introduced on 1st July 2000 by the Federal Government to offset the effect of the GST on home ownership. It is a national scheme funded by the states and territories and administered under their own legislation. Under the scheme, a one-off grant is payable to first home buyers that satisfy all the eligibility criteria. The amounts differ from state to state and other grants/concessions are made available for first home buyers by individual states.
